Awhile back, JCPenney released a code that took $10 off any purchase of $10 or more online. My sister and I picked up our free items a few weeks ago (in a previous post). My boyfriend also placed an order and I did another order under my mom’s name. We picked out items that were perfectly $10 had it shipped to a nearby store to avoid paying shipping costs. We went to pick up the items today. The orders were completely free (didn’t even have to pay tax!).

I stopped by Pet Food Express to pick up some free Natural Balance dog and cat treats:

The company is currently offering these coupon (expire 6/30/13) for a free 8oz bag of Natural Balance L.I.T. or Healthy Bones dog treats and a free 3oz bag of Natural Balance Perfect Bites cat treats. You can bring these coupons to any pet store that carries the product and get both free! At Pet Food Express, I only had to pay the $0.72 tax.

There actually aren’t any limits set out on the coupon. You can go to multiple pet stores and redeem these coupons. You can also have every single person in your household redeem them as well. So far, I have been able to redeem them at Pet Food Express, Petco, and Pet Club. One store that I went into that didn’t carry them was PetSmart. I have also given them to my family so they can each grab free treats as well! I have accumulated 4 free bags of each and counting…

My Transaction: Used a $2/$5 purchase of facial product CVS in-store printed coupon, a free full-sized body wash (up to $2.57) online printed coupon from Minute Clinic, and a free $3 ECB CVS emailed to me. Paid $1.22 total after tax.

Boyfriend’s Transaction: Used a free full-sized body wash (up to $2.57) online printed coupon from Minute Clinic and a free $3 ECB CVS emailed to him. Paid $0.53 after tax. Got back a $1 ECB for buying the mouthwash. So he technically made a profit of $0.47.

Overall Cost: $1.22 - $0.47(profit) = $0.75 for everything after coupons and tax.

I went shopping today and picked up some free stuff.

A few weeks ago, JCPenney released a code that took $10 off any purchase of $10 or more online. I picked out an item that was perfectly $10 for me and my sister and had it shipped to my nearest store to avoid paying shipping costs. The orders were completely free (didn’t even have to pay tax!). They were available to pick up today at the store.

I stopped by Sephora to use a free $5 Wrapp gift card. I decided to get a nano eyeliner that was $5. I only had to pay $0.43 tax. Check out the Wrapp app if you haven’t already. Occasionally, you get to send and receive free gift cards for popular stores like H&M, Sephora, Office Depot, American Apparel, Gap, Victoria’s Secret, and many others.

At Victoria’s Secret, I got 3 free undies by using coupons I received from them in the mail.

How I Got Free Sunscreen + Gained Free Money From Target

Since it’s almost summer and I will be outdoors in the hot sun more often, I decided that buying some sunscreen would be a good idea. So I planned out my couponing scenarios and headed to Target with my boyfriend.

I read in Target’s ad that they have a deal on their Banana Boat sunscreen this week (5/19-5/25). They are selling the Banana Boat Sport Performance Coolzone 6 oz for $6.49 each and you get a $5 Target gift card free when you buy 2.

My Original Plan on Paper:

MY TRANSACTION:

Buy 2 at $6.49 each

-Save 5% on each with Target Cartwheel (about $0.65 off total)

-Use $3.25/2 Banana Boat products manufacturer coupon

-Combine with $2/2 Banana Boat products Target coupon

-Use free $2 Shopkick Target mobile gift card

Pay $5.09 + $1.11 tax = $6.20 out of pocket and get back a $5 Target Gift Card. So really paying only $1.20 out of pocket.

BOYFRIEND’S TRANSACTION:

Buy 2 at $6.49 each

-Save 5% on each with Target Cartwheel (about $0.65 off total)

-Use $3.25/2 Banana Boat products manufacturer coupon

Pay $0.09 + $1.11 tax = $1.20 out of pocket and get back a $5 Target Gift Card. So paying only $1.20 out of pocket (since Target $5 gift cards equal out)

BOTH TRANSACTION COMBINED: Paying $2.40($1.20 + $1.20) total out of pocket for 4 bottles of Banana Boat sunscreen. So that would make each bottle only $0.60 each. So that was my plan.

Well, some miracle happened and things did not go according to my original plan in the store. Instead, I walked out with all 4 bottles completely FREE and MADE MONEY.

So basically, everything I had planned (the coupons, the Target Cartwheel, the free $2 Shopkick Target gift card) worked out. But something I never thought would happen happened. A $3/2 Banana Boat products Catalina coupon printed out from the register after the cashier scanned the two bottles of sunscreen. She ripped the Catalina out and scanned it into my transaction (WHAT?). Normally Catalina coupons are meant to be given to the customer so they can use them in the future (she must be new). I handed her my other coupons and she scanned them too. She did this for both my transaction and my boyfriend’s. So basically, for each transaction, she gave a free $3 to use. Because of this, I only had to pay $2.53 out of pocket in my transaction and my boyfriend paid nothing out of pocket in his transaction. In my boyfriend’s transaction, I got a free pair of flip flops by using a $2/1 Flip Flop Target coupon that I printed awhile back.

I walked out of the store with $7.47 worth of Target gift cards ($2.47 left from the one I got and the full $5 left on the one my boyfriend got). The only money I used out of pocket was the $2.53 in the first transaction.

So I got everything for FREE and made $4.94 free money ($7.47 - $2.53 = $4.94). SCORE! Funny things like this don’t happen often.

Couponed at Target today!

A few days ago, Target offered a coupon for $2 off any flip flop purchase on their online coupon database. I decided to print out 2 and held on to them. Today I brought them with me to Target in hopes to get some cheap flip flops. Since the coupon is limit one per person, my boyfriend did a separate transaction.

My Transaction:

Coupons used: $2/1 Flip Flop Target online printed coupon (ended up getting them for free because of their $2 flip flop sale!), $2/1 Van’s Gluten Free Product online printed coupon, $1 off a fresh fruit purchase of $1 or more Target mobile coupon, $1 off a fresh vegetable purchase of $1 or more Target mobile coupon. To get these two Target mobile coupons, text PICNIC to 827438. $2.51 total for everything after coupons.

Boyfriend’s Transaction:

Coupons used: $2/1 Flip Flop Target online printed coupon, $1 off a fresh fruit purchase of $1 or more Target mobile coupon, $1 off a fresh vegetable purchase of $1 or more Target mobile coupon, Free Swiffer Refill (up to $6) with the purchase of a Swiffer Starter Kit coupon from 4/28 P&G insert (the cashier took off the full $6 from the coupon, giving a $2.01 overage for the rest of the basket. Score!). Total after coupons and tax was $9.40. However, we’re submitting P&G’s Swiffer Rebate which refunds the full purchase price of the starter kit (which was $9.99). This rebate is limit one per household (expires 6/30/13). So after rebate accounting for a stamp ($0.46), everything in this transaction was FREE plus an extra $0.13 money earned.

A few weeks ago, Comcast held a giveaway of 535 Game of Thrones Viewing Party Kits for college students on their facebook page. I was lucky enough to grab one. It arrived today!

Includes: a reusable bag, 10 plastic cups, 10 cocktail stirrers (in the shape of swords!), 10 napkins, 2 ping pong balls, a paper crown, and a pack of Game of Thrones playing cards.

I really love the playing cards! Thank you Comcast!

I had a super fun time couponing with my hunnie today! First we stopped by Walmart:

Coupons used: Free 20oz Coca Cola mailed coupon, 3 X Free Skinny Cow Divine Filled Chocolates mailed coupons (from a giveaway), Free Oscar Mayer Pulled Pork mailed coupon, Free (2) Purina Beneful Prepared Meals mailed coupon (won from a Purina Instant Win Game), Free Purina Beggin’ Strips mailed coupon (won from a Purina Instant Win Game), $1/2 Quaker products coupon from a newspaper insert, 2 X Free Friskies Rise & Shine canned cat food online printed coupons, 2 X $2/1 Rice Dream online printed coupons, 2 X $5/1 Playtex Fresh & Sexy intimate wipes, Free L’Oreal Healthy Look hair color mailed coupon (from a giveaway).

The subtotal before coupons was $64.95. After coupons, it went down to $20.50. So after all the coupons and tax, I only paid $23.00. The joy of saving money!

Also, I use a money making app called ibotta, which pays you money when you buy certain items. I was able to get $0.50 back for the Coca Cola (which I got for free), $1.00 back for the Emerald Breakfast To-Go (making it cost $1.68), and $1.00 back for the Capri Sun Big Pouch (making it free plus $0.12 free money!). So technically, after the ibotta savings, my total was $20.50 for everything!

We then went to CVS to pick up candy:

I combined a $2.50/1 Brookside chocolate online printed CVS coupon with a $1/1 Brookside chocolate online printed manufacturer coupon. Since the Brookside chocolate was only $3, I had to throw in a filler item so my total wasn’t negative (which jams the system). I decided to get some Orbit gum. I ended up paying $0.50 total for both items! My boyfriend did the same thing in a separate transaction since the $2.50/1 Brookside CVS coupon was limited to one per customer (the system tracks it through our CVS ExtraCare card).

On Sunday, I stopped by H&M to use a free $6 Wrapp gift card that I received. I was able to get two lingerie items for completely free!

They were each on sale for $3. The Wrapp card was perfectly $6 so I didn’t even have to pay tax.

You should definitely download this app if you haven’t already. I don’t know how much free money I have gotten from companies such as H&M, Gap, Sephora, and many others. You can currently send and receive free $5 Victoria’s Secret gifts too! I received one and used it to get cheap makeup remover wipes.

I used a $4.99/1 Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy product in-store printed coupon and a coupon for a free box of CVS brand alcohol swabs (up to $2.59) that was printed off their website. Details for both are below. I also had a $0.50 Extra Care Bucks reward.

When we got to the store, the Coupon Center machine had an “Out of Order” sign on it. I walked up to a worker in the store and asked him if there was another way I could still get the advertised $4.99 coupon. He nicely went over to the machine, opened it up, manually fed the paper through, and helped me print out the coupon! This guy was seriously the nicest CVS worker I have ever encountered! He helped my boyfriend print his too.

BzzAgent Campaign for Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Products

I am a member of a social marketing company called BzzAgent. They allow you to test out new and upcoming products in return for your reviews and promise to spread the word about the products you test. After you test the product, you get to keep it as well. It is free to join and very easy to participate. Upon joining, you want to do as many of the surveys offered as you can because they provide them with information about what products you are best suited to test. Also doing the surveys will get your BzzScore up so you have a higher chance of being asked to participate in product testing campaigns.

A few weeks ago, I was offered a campaign to try out the new Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge hair products. These include a shampoo, conditioner, and a 1-Minute Moisture-Plenish treatment.This post serves to review these products.

My experience with Garnier Fructis’s Hydra Recharge products these past few weeks has definitely been a positive. I have used many hair products in the past, ranging from cheap store brand to salon picks. I didn’t expect to find any new features in these products that my hair has not already encountered. I have to say that my thoughts were proved wrong. The trio consisting of the shampoo, conditioner, and 1-Minute Moisture-Plenish treatment has worked better for my hair than 90% of other hair care products.

I have thick long natural black hair that almost reaches my waist. I constantly search for good products that help keep it healthy from split ends and dryness. I also like to keep my hair smooth in order to prevent nasty tangles. A good scent is definitely a plus too! Hydra Recharge seems to solve all of my problems.

The Hydra Recharge shampoo cleans my hair very well and washes away all the dust, residue, and extra oil in my hair and scalp. As I rub the shampoo into my hair, it foams up just right. It doesn’t overfoam and fall off my head like some other products I’ve used. The whole bathroom smells super fruity as the pearls of goji berry, passion fruit, and kiwi explode into my hair. The great scent just makes my shower experience ten times better. My hair feels completely clean and fresh after using the shampoo.

Next comes the conditioner, which smells even sweeter coming out of the bottle. It easily massages into my scalp and hair. I usually leave it in for about a minute as I shave my legs so I know the hydration really makes its way into my hair. As I rinse it out, I physically can feel how soft and smooth my hair has become through my fingers. It is a very pleasurable feeling. It rinses out very easily too. At this point the smell in the bathroom has increased.

Finally I apply the 1-Minute Moisture-Plenish treatment to my hair. I leave it in for the full minute and maybe even a little longer as I wash my body. I really like letting that treatment seep into my strands. This treatment doesn’t have as strong of a scent compared to the shampoo and conditioner. As I rinse it out, my hair feels softer and lighter. I am not joking about the lightweight feeling. It’s similar to the feeling you get when you wash your hair after getting a new haircut.

When my hair dries, it has this lightweight silky smooth feeling. I love running my fingers through it and love watching it flow flawlessly as I move. My hair also visibly becomes shinier day and night. In the morning, it glows in the sunlight. At night, it glistens in the moonlight. My hair stays this wonderful until my next wash a day later. I also get this overall feeling that my hair has become healthier, stronger, and better hydrated after using Hydra Recharge.

PROS of Hydra Recharge products: cleans effectively, smells absolutely amazing, softens hair, makes hair silky and smooth, gives hair a lightweight feeling, makes hair shiny, hydrates hair, makes hair stronger and healthier, makes hair feel great to the touch, packaging has no problems

CONS of Hydra Recharge products: smell could last a bit longer, may not be for those who don’t like sweet smelling hair products

I would highly recommend this product to women of all ages. From my experience, I can say it works exceptionally well with straight and thick hair. I would definitely choose to buy this product over many other hair products.

Total = $10.31 after coupons. Without the paper and Just For You coupons, I would have paid $26.83...

Note: The Nivea lip balms were $2.49 each club price but the register took off $2.99 for each one when the free coupons were scanned. So there was a free $1 that I got to use on the rest of my purchase.

I used 6 free Pepsi Next (up to $1.99 value) coupons, a $4/1 Poise feminine product coupon clipped from a magazine, 2 $3/1 Poise feminine product CVS online printed coupons, and 2 $1/1 Poise feminine product online printed manufacturer coupons. I got back a $1 ECB too! So my total for everything is $2.09.

Yea I know I could’ve gotten a better price on the Pepsi somewhere else (ex: Target) but CVS is the most convenient place for shopping when I don’t want to drive far from home xD. I gave in to my laziness.
